About Overlay Systems

Five Systems, One Category — Choosing the Right Liquid Roofing Route

This category covers five distinct products that each serve a different scenario. Understanding which scenario you are in before ordering saves the cost of returning the wrong product.

TekCryl is a fibre-reinforced acrylic repair coating — brush or roller applied direct from the tin to felt, GRP, metal or bitumen. No mixing. No catalyst. It is a fast repair tool for leaks on structurally sound roofs, not a full refurbishment system.

Evergreen Hybrid Flexi-GRP is the standard overlay and refurbishment system. It bonds to an existing sound roof without strip-off, replacing separate GRP resin and topcoat with a single lower-styrene product that cures to a flexible finish. The system for domestic and trade refurbishment where fire-rated classification is not required.

TekGuard Flexi-GRP is the fire-rated version of the same Evergreen system. BROOF(t4) certified to BS 476 Part 3. Use TekGuard where building control or the project specification requires fire-rated overlay performance. Use Evergreen where it does not.

TekPur SP is a single-component cold-applied polyurethane membrane. Ready to use with no mixing. Suitable for overlays, detail waterproofing and refurbishment on felt, GRP, bitumen, EPDM, metal and concrete. A same-day primer is available where a fast-track application programme is needed.

TekPur 2K is the two-component version of TekPur. A liquid activator is mixed with the base before application. Solvent-free, low odour. The commercial specification route for car parks, ramps, bridges and demanding substrates where the two-component system is specified by name.

When None of These Is the Right Answer

All five systems require a structurally sound substrate. Rotten deck, soaked insulation, widespread membrane failure or a moving structure cannot be solved with any liquid product. In those cases, the correct route is a new OSB3 deck and a GRP roofing kit — not an overlay.
