Kits cover the laminate. Order trims, outlets, primer, tools and deck boards separately for a complete roof.
A GRP roofing kit covers the laminate โ resin, fibreglass matting, catalyst and topcoat. Most installations also need edge trims to form the drip or raised edge, a drain outlet or through-wall outlet, application tools, acetone for clean-up, and primer where the deck or surface needs preparation. New build roofs also need OSB3 deck boards and may need a vapour barrier below the deck. Accessories are sold separately here so you can add exactly what the project needs without paying for duplicates.

What accessories are needed for a GRP flat roof that are not in the kit?
Most GRP kits do not include edge trims, roofing outlets, application tools, acetone, primer or deck boards. Each of these needs to be selected separately based on the roof layout, edge type and drainage design.
Do I need to order trims before I start laminating?
Yes. GRP trims are fitted and bonded to the deck before the laminate is applied. If trims are not on site before lamination starts, the job cannot proceed correctly at the edges.
Can I buy just resin or just matting without a full kit?
Yes. Roofing resin, topcoat, catalyst, chopped strand mat and fibreglass matting tape are all sold separately here for top-ups, repairs and custom material lists.
What outlet does a flat roof need?
It depends on how the roof drains. A roof draining into a downpipe through a parapet needs a through-wall outlet. A roof draining to a vertical drop needs a rainwater drain outlet or soil pipe outlet depending on pipe diameter. A flat roof draining to a gutter at the eaves edge usually does not need a GRP outlet.
Is OSB3 the right decking for GRP roofing?
GRP roofing systems require a structural tongue-and-grooved OSB3 board โ specifically 18mm T&G OSB3. Standard flooring-grade OSB is not the same and is not suitable. The T&G joint prevents the laminate cracking at board joints from differential movement.
GRP roofing kits are built around the laminate system โ resin, fibreglass matting, catalyst and topcoat. They do not include edge trims, roofing outlets, application tools, acetone, primer or deck boards. On a new build roof you also need OSB3 T&G deck boards before the GRP goes down, and on an insulated build a vapour control layer below the deck. These are all separate purchases matched to the specific roof layout and edge detail.
GRP trims are fitted and bonded to the deck before laminating, then glassed over as the laminate is applied. This means choosing the correct trim profile is a pre-lamination decision โ if the wrong trim is ordered or it arrives late, the lamination cannot proceed correctly. Order trims at the same time as the kit, not after.
